Our friends from our sister school Yamamura Gakuen High School in Japan left us last weekend after an amazing action packed 10-day exchange. They were welcomed with a Mihi whaktau and we were lucky to have Ms Takako Taguchi the Head of International Relations for the Japanese Embassy as a guest.
They had a busy week of Wellington site-seeing, school activities with their Manaakitanga buddies and getting involved in Onslow school life. The Yamamura Group visited Wellington icons such as Te Papa, had a tour of Parliament and experienced the magic of Space Place. Back at Onslow, they even enjoyed a Food and Nutrition practical class, a PE class and a Digital Tech class with Onslow students. Our host families added to their fantastic week by looking after them so well. We look forward to our two schools meeting again in the near future!
