Parent Teacher Association
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a great way for families to get involved in the school community, giving them a voice in school activities and events. It’s also an opportunity to connect with other families and learn more about what’s going on at the school.
Meetings are informal, held twice a term on Monday evenings, and usually last around an hour. You can attend in person or online, making it flexible for different schedules. Our Principal, Sheena Millar, and a Board Member are always present at the meetings to guide the discussions.
There are various ways to get involved, whether you have a little or a lot of time to offer. Some members are on the PTA committee, while others are part of a helpers list and are happy to volunteer their time when an extra pair of hands is needed for an event. Every contribution is appreciated, big or small!
It’s a wonderful way to support the school and build connections with the school community.

We currently have two roles that are becoming vacant at the end of 2024. We are looking for parents and caregivers with an interest and or skills in Finance, to be our Treasurer, and someone interested in being the Secretary. Our Chairperson role is vacant and is currently being shared across committee members.
Here is a brief summary of the roles in our committee and what they require:
- Chairperson (Currently vacant/can be a shared role)
- Set dates for meetings with the Principal’s PA at the beginning of the year and agree school events to help at
- Agree each meeting agenda with the Secretary and run the meetings
- Prepare an annual report for the AGM (in March)
2. Treasurer (Vacant end of 2024)
- Liaise with the Accounts team
- Produce a financial summary for each meeting
- Prepare the annual donation letter and liaise with the Principals PA to have this distributed
- Purchase supplies and make donations to school
- Prepare the year end financial statements and an annual report for the AGM and submit the Annual Return with the Charities Commission.
- Secretary (Vacant end of 2024)
- Administration for meetings (send agenda, required reports, previous minutes out prior to a meeting)
- Take minutes at meetings
- Manage the PTA email account
- Coordinate logistics for an event – liaise with the school contact and the PTA wider group regarding availability
- Liaise with the School Communications Advisor to ensure all information on the website is up to date
- Library Co-ordinator
- Liaise with the Library Manager
- Compile a library helper roster each term
- Committee Member/s
- Attend meetings
- Assist at events
- Helper Volunteer/s
- Have your name on a wider helpers list for events.
