This week, our future student leaders at Onslow College kicked off their preparations for  2025. Our Kākā Tangi Haeata Student Council, the Year 13 Peer Supporters, and students from our Rangatahi Māori Roopu, participated in two days of exciting and challenging activities.
Day 1: Adventure Awaits
On a beautiful Wellington day, students were split into two groups for a day of adventure. One group took on the challenges of an ‘Amazing Race’ at Whitireia Park, where they had to work together to problem solve and build their critical thinking skills. The other group headed to Adrenalin Forest for a physically and mentally demanding experience, pushing their limits and conquering fears.
Day 2: Skills for Success
Day two brought the group work back to school for a series of workshops focused on leadership and interpersonal skills. They delved into the principles of Restorative Practice, learning how to navigate difficult conversations with empathy and understanding. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly learning a powerful haka, a symbol of unity and strength.

We can’t wait to see how this talented group of students will inspire and support our school community in 2025.
