A massive congratulations to our very own Jade Jamieson (Year 12) for achieving national honours in football!
Already a key member of our Girls’ First XI, Jade spent part of her December holidays in Christchurch at the Māori Football Aotearoa U16 Women’s training camp. She put in a tremendous effort over four days, culminating in the annual North vs. South fixture. Playing for Southern Māori, Jade helped hold the North to a nil-all draw in a highly competitive game.
Her strength and skill during the camp did not go unnoticed. Jade has officially been named in the National U16 Māori Women’s Team! This selection brings an exciting opportunity: Jade will be traveling to New Caledonia in October 2026 to play against top-tier representative teams. We are incredibly proud of Jade for reaching this level and representing our school and community on the international stage. Ka rawe!
Celeste Dickson (Year 11) is currently training with the Wellington Women’s (Capital Futsal) Superleague team. The competition runs from 17 Jan-29 March. This came about after the Wellington women’s coach spotted Celeste when she was playing in the Youth Futsal Nationals (for the Wellington u15 Capital Futsal team who came 3rd!) in December. Celeste was then invited to train with the team (as goal keeper) for a development opportunity. This means she trains with the team twice a week and attends training camps but will not travel or play in the games. She has been training with the team for a few weeks now and loving it. Way to go Celeste, what an amazing opportunity!
