We are delighted to congratulate Mark Patchett, Damian Aitken, Niamh Campbell, John Phillips and Abigail McIntyre, on achieving their full teaching certification. Their commitment to education is the embodiment of our high expectation, high-care environment.
We wanted to highlight the journey to becoming a teacher of one of our newest teachers, Mark Patchett. Mark’s journey with Onslow College is a long one, beginning with 6 years of dedicated service on the School Board while his children were students here. Demonstrating a commitment to education, Mark transitioned from a career as a Lawyer to a Secondary Teacher, completing a Graduate Diploma in Teaching.
He has been a valued member of the Onslow staff for two years, teaching Te Ao Tangata (Social Sciences). Mark also plays a crucial role in the Careers team, with a focus on the junior school dedicating time hours to spearhead our Year 9 ‘Have a Go’ sessions, facilitate the important Secondary School Employer Partnership Programme (SSEP) and assist with the careers education component of our Ako programme called Careers Hauora.
Thanks to all the staff who supported and guided our newest teachers towards this achievement.
