Upcoming Asbestos Removal Works at Onslow College – Block D (Graphics Corridor) & Rec Centre Tuesday, 7 April 2026 – Friday 17 April 2026

Please be advised that planned asbestos removal works are scheduled to take place at Onslow College as part of upcoming demolition projects.
What’s Happening?
Contractors will be working within restricted areas to remove identified asbestos-containing materials (ACM). The scope includes removal of ACM from the Rec Centre and Graphics corridor (both areas are fenced construction areas). Identified materials include vinyl flooring tiles, cement sheet cladding, and soffits. All removal work will be completed under Class A conditions.
Who is Doing the Work?
The following organisations have been engaged to manage and execute these works safely:

When and where?
Start Date: Tuesday, 7 April 2026
Estimated Duration: Friday 17 April 2026
Operating Hours: Standard working hours (8am – 5pm)
Locations: Fully-fenced construction zones at Blocks D and E. Access to the work sites will be gained off Burma Road
How are students, staff and neighbours protected?
- Work areas will be isolated from the public using mobile steel mesh fencing and clear hazard signage.
- Sites will be locked at the end of each shift to ensure they remain secure.
- Air monitoring will be in place during the removal
- A clearance certificate must be issued by the independent assessor at the completion of the work.
- All asbestos waste will be double-bagged or wrapped in polythene, then transported in secured vehicles to the Landfill.
