Year 9 – Enviro week Wed 3rd-5th December
Year 9 Enviro Days is a 3-day program held at Onslow College (3th–5th December).
- This program takes a collaborative, cross-curricular approach to explore our understanding of the environment at Onslow College. The aim is for students to develop a deeper understanding of the impact we have on the environment and to explore more positive and sustainable connections.
- On Wednesday and Thursday, students will participate in 4 different classroom workshops (including a walk on Tarikākā) that are connected to our curriculum, each with a brief assessment attached.
- On Friday, representatives from Zealandia, Predator Free, Mountain To Sea, local artists, sewers, engineers, digital game designers, builders and raranga leaders will come to the school to run various activities for our students. Students have had the opportunity to choose an activity, and we hope they will engage fully.
We are really looking forward to this year’s program.

Year 10 is set for an unforgettable end to 2025. From Wednesday, December 3rd, to Sunday, December 7th, our students will be busy making memories on a fantastic range of trips. Many are staying in Wellington for three days of focused activity, choosing adventures like Rock Climbing, delving into creativity with Digital Design, or hitting three different Golf courses. Meanwhile, others are catching the ferry to explore the Top of the South Island on three and five-day expeditions, including walking the stunning Abel Tasman Coast Track or Queen Charlotte Track with some kayaking thrown in, enjoying the calm waters with Marlborough Sounds Kayaking, or embarking on a comprehensive tour featuring Whale Watching in Kaikoura, visiting Hanmer Springs and the West Coast. This exciting week promises to deliver incredible experiences and lasting memories with mates!
