International Student BIG Wellington Welcome!
Our new cohort of 30 International students started their Onslow experience with a large school Pōwhiri on Monday morning. They were welcomed by our Kapa Haka group, Te Whānau a Tarikākā, and Onslow staff. A new student from Germany, Fritz, bravely stood up among his new peers and introduced himself and his fellow students using te reo, well done Fritz! The new students followed that up with a traditional morning tea – sausage roll anyone? 😋
The following day our International team, new students and their Onslow buddies (Onslow students helping the international students feel at home) went into Wellington on the train, had an amazing race at Te Papa and ate ice-cream with 5 other schools and their International students! Thanks Tawa College, Paraparaumu College, Kapiti College, Aotea college, Rongotai College for joining in in the fun with us!
