It’s been a Sporty School Holidays!
A few of our students and recent alumni were busy over the school holidays, representing their regions and New Zealand across a range of sports. Below are some of their achievements from the 2 week break:
- Eleanor Shaw – Represented the Netball Wellington U16 Team at the U16 North Island Junior Championships in Palmerston North, achieving 4th place
- Eleanor Shaw – Represented the Wellington U18 Basketball Team at the U18 Foot Locker National Championships in Auckland, where the team were crowned National Champions
- Fergus Henderson – Represented the Wellington U18 Basketball Team at the U18 Foot Locker National Championships in Auckland, finishing 6th place
- Brad Parkin – Finalist for Official of the Year (Rugby / Touch) at the Āti Awa Toa Wellington Regional Sports Awards
- Ruby McKenzie and Ella Young – World Junior Ultimate Championships, competing with the New Zealand Under-20 Women’s Ultimate team in Logroño, Spain, from 11–17 July, finishing 9th in the world. The team was awarded Most Spirited team – based on scores given to them by all the teams they played
- Elise Lewis – Represented New Zealand in Tenpin bowling at the TBA21 Masters competition at Coolangatta Tweed Tenpin, NSW Australia
- Ross Miller – Competed at the Diving New Zealand Championships and National Schools Diving Championships both in Christchurch
- Roman Anderson – Selected to the Swimming New Zealand development squad to compete at the Tri-Series swimming meet in Karratha, Western Australia 8-10 July. Roman achieved a bronze for the third highest points overall for boys and achieved the highest points for his team – NZ Team White
- James Curran and Aarush Juneja selected for the Cricket Wellington Y10 training squad
- Lucas Jaine – Selected for Wellington U18 Hockey team which played at Nationals in Tauranga over the holidays. Lucas has also been selected for U18s Central Falcons Development Camp in October
- Isla McKenzie (Onslow College alumni 2025) – Finalist for Rangatahi Sportsperson of the Year (Cricket) at the Āti Awa Toa Wellington Regional Sports Awards
- Olivia Martin (Onslow College alumni 2025) – Selected for the New Zealand U19 Development Rowing Team and competed at the International Rowing Challenge in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
