As part of Level 1 Entrepreneurial Finance, and Entrepreneurship and the Economy, students take part in the annual Onslow College Market Evening.
Market Evening consists of gathering together a team of classmates to create a product or service to sell to the school community. It allows students to have an insight into what a business does to develop and sell their product or service. This opportunity encourages creativity among classmates and allows students to cultivate an attitude of teamwork and diligence that is vital in the real world.
This year’s Market Evening had fantastic products on offer, from endangered animal themed cupcakes and candles, refurbished jewellery, workout programmes, a flight simulator to 3D printed fidgets and figurines. Sales on the night were a success and 25% of profits were donated to Women’s Refuge. Across 4 classes with 104 students, the amazing 24 businesses were able to raise a total of $438!!
Amazing mahi Onslow! Thanks to all the Onslow whanau and community who supported our amazing Year 11 students.
